החניון החיצוני של מתחם שערי העיר, שלושה רכבים חוסמים את הכביש ומהם יוצאים שוטרים סמויים וגלויים, שמסתערים על רכב חונה.

כך נראה רגע המעצר של שניים מהחשודים בניסיון החיסול שהתרחש הבוקר (שלישי) בבית שמש כפי שהוא תועד במצלמות האבטחה של אחד הבניינים במתחם.

כזכור, כפי שפורסם ב"כל העיר בית שמש" מוקדם יותר, בסביבות השעה 6:30 בבוקר סיכלה המשטרה ניסיון חיסול של אחד הדיירים במתחם, לאחר שמטען חבלה הוצמד לרכבו שחנה בחניון התת קרקעי.

בהמשך הודיעה המשטרה כי סוכל ניסיון חיסול בעיר בית שמש – 4 חשודים נעצרו, כשעל פי חשד המשטרה הם הצמידו מטען חבלה ברכבו של תושב העיר, כדורגלן עבר. הרקע למעשה עדיין נבדק. החשודים יובאו להארכת מעצר בבית משפט השלום בירושלים בהמשך היום.

מהמשטרה נמסר: "פעילות מבצעית סמויה של בלשי היחידה המרכזית במשטרת מחוז ירושלים, הביאה לסיכול ניסיון חיסול בעיר בית שמש, במהלכה בלשי המשטרה הצליחו לעצור 'על חם' 4 חשודים (שנות ה 20, בית שמש, צפון) לאחר שהצמידו עפ"י החשד מטען חבלה לרכבו של תושב המקום, שחנה בחניון ביתו. חבלני משטרת ישראל שהוזעקו למקום, מטפלים כעת במטען החבלה על מנת לנטרלו".
