אופיר ואסף עזו שגדלו במועדונים הירושלמים ונחשבו לכדורגלנים מובילים בליגה הלאומית, שבו לקבוצה העירונית לאחר שכבר שיחקו בה בעבר

קבוצת הבוגרים של עירוני בית שמש מתחזקת. הקבוצה הודיעה היום (שלישי) על צירופם וחזרתם הביתה של האחים עזו, אסף ואופיר, שגדלו בקבוצות הירושלמיות ובשנים האחרונות הצטרפו לקבוצה המקומית.

אופיר, שבעונה אשתקד שיחק ואף שימש כמאמנה של הפועל ירושלים, שב לבית שמש לאחר שבתחילת העונה החל לשחק בה עד שהחליט לחזור לקבוצה מהבירה. אסף שב לעירוני לאחר שכבר שיחק בה בארבע העונות אחרונות והחליט לעזוב בשל סיבות אישיות.

גורמים טוענים כי השניים החליטו לשוב לקבוצה בעקבות פנייתו של סגן ומ"מ ראש העיר משה שטרית, אשר מודע למצב הקשה של הקבוצה שמתקשה לייצר ניצוחונות ונמצאת במקום העשירי בטבלת הליגה עם מאזן של חמישה הפסדים ושלושה ניצחונות.
