קבוצתו של בן בן יאיר, תושב בית שמש, הגיעה למשחק שנערך אתמול (שישי) במומנטום שלילי מאוד, כאשר היא רשמה תשעה הפסדים רצופים והיתה חייבת את הניצחון כדי לנסות ולהימלט מהתחתית הבוערת.

זה התחיל רע מבחינת בני לוד שספגה שער כבר בדקה ה-33, אולם למזלה היה זה בן יאיר שבבעיטה אדירה אל בין חיבורי הקורות כבש שער שוויון (דקה 42) והוריד את שתי הקבוצות להפסקה כשהתוצאה היא 1:1.

שחקני לוד פתחו טוב את המחצית השניה וניסו להשיג את היתרון בכל מחיר. לאחר מספר הזדמנויות לוד באה על שכרה ורשמה מהפך מושלם שנשמר עד לשריקה האחרונה.
