זמן קצר לאחר חתימת מפלגת ש"ס על כניסה לקואליציה של ראש העיר ד"ר עליזה בלוך, הרוחות בעיריית בית שמש סוערות. חברי סיעת הבית היהודי בקואליציה זועמים ואף מאוד מאוכזבים על המהלך שנעשה בין בלוך לש"ס.

אחד הנושאים המרכזים עליהם זועמים חברי הבית היהודי הוא שבהסכם בין בלוך לש"ס אמורה לקבל המפלגה החרדית שליטה על המועצה הדתית בעיר.

מסיעת הבית היהודי נמסר: "סיעת הבית היהודי רואה בחומרה רבה את החתימה על הסכם למסירת סמכויות המועצה הדתית לתנועת ש"ס. הדבר מהווה הפרה בוטה של ההסכם הקואליציוני עם סיעת הבית היהודי על כל המשתמע מכך אך חמור מכך- אנו רואים בכך בגידה בערכי הציונות הדתית בפרט ובגידה בציבור הדתי לאומי והכללי בכלל. סניף הבית היהודי מתכנס לישיבת חירום בכדי לדון בצעדים אשר יינקטו".
